Sibis Alumni Big Band
Our unique big band brings together students, teachers and prominent alumni.
Introduction
Sibis Alumni Big Band is a project group from the jazz department. It consists of Sibelius Academy jazz music Masters of Music, current students, and teachers. The Alumni Big Band has been active since 2010, performing both new works and modern classic big band music. Past guest conductors and soloists include Dick Oatts, Bob Mintzer, Boris Kozlov, Tim Hagans, Michael Formanek, Darcy James Argue, Seamus Blake, John Scofield, Jim McNeely and Vince Mendoza.
