In the Midst of an Artist Community – Kallio-Kuninkala Then and Now 2.5.-27.8.2023
What is the connection between Kallio-Kuninkala building and the Tuusula lake artist community? What kind of impact has it had on Finnish cultural life, and what is happening there today? The exhibition takes us from the late 19th century, through the experiences of the K.A. and Kerttu Paloheimo family and their lineage, to the present-day activities of the University of the Arts Helsinki’s Järvenpää premises. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Järvenpää Art Museum and the Leonora and Yrjö Paloheimo Foundation, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023.
