I am a researcher, writer, lecturer, supervisor, and event organiser, among other things, with over twenty years of experience in creative and culture industries in particular. I have worked since 2020 as Professor of Arts Management in Sibelius Academy, at the University of Arts Helsinki. From 2023 onwards, I also act as the Head of MuTri Doctoral School and Research Unit in Sibelius Academy. I also have the title of Docent by Aalto University School of Business in the area of "management of music and culture export". I have the degrees of Doctor of Arts (Art and Design) from University of Art and Design Helsinki (2004), and Master of Science (Economics) from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration (1999) with major in international business and minors in International Design Business Management and German language. My personal key research areas have included: Trade of cultural narratives in rock music industry, popular music and heavy metal studies, communicative aspects of design and brands, visual culture and cultural meaning creation, cultural narratives and transmedia storytelling, design management, design and business integration, management in creative industries, arts management. In the University of the Arts, my teaching and research have covered, in particular, the areas such as. Arts management, entrepreneurship in arts, brand management and marketing in arts, business of creative and cultural industries, audience engagement, fundraising and sponsorship.
