Timothy Smith, Ph.D., MFA, (they/he) is an artist, educator, and university researcher in the Artist Pedagogy theme at the Research Institute. Their research focuses on critical disability and neurodiversity studies approaches to higher education in the arts, with a particular emphasis on analyzing and challenging ableism in university institutions. Their current research project is titled “Artistic Processes of University Art Students Self-Identifying Along the Neurodiversity Spectrum”. The study seeks to learn about the neurodiversity experience of students’ engagement with artistic thinking through their artistic processes.
