Profile image

I am a Multidisciplinary Sonic-based artist/researcher focused on timbral phenomena, instrumental modification, improvisation, reassessing soundscape composition, multi-disciplinarity, the encounter of traditional and contemporary sonic perspectives, experimentalism in music and sound, and cello performance. All these topics are approached from both artistic research and musicological perspectives. Over the last years, I have been working on the creation of multi-sonic performances and developing the notion of Multi-process creativity, taking as bases improvisation, composition, comprovisation and soundscape. Within my last works, I have been using only domestic/recycled materials and technology as a way to foster more sustainable and ecological strategies in art and research making. I hold a PhD in Musicology granted by the Faculty of Arts at the University of Helsinki, a master's degree in Music Composition, New Technologies and Traditional Arts granted by the University of Tres de Febrero (Argentina), and a bachelor in Music Education (Majors: Cello performance and Composition) granted by the University of Caldas (Colombia). I have been teaching diverse practical and theoretical courses within different scopes and institutions in Europe and South America, such as Laponia Improvisations, Music Technology, Global Music, and Folk Music departments of the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki Theatre Academy, Helsinki Fine Arts Academy, University of Helsinki, Helsinki Conservatory, Music Academy of Oslo, Estonian Academy of Music and Theater, Tartu Heino Eller Academy, Basel University, FLUSS Austria, University of Caldas, Javeriana University, Andes University of Colombia, Conservatori del Liceu Barcelona, ESMUC Barcelona, Conservatory of Gran Canaria, Latvian Conservatory and Jazz Academy Kaunas Lithuania, among others.
