Lucy Abrams-Husso (DocMus) is a clarinetist and researcher specializing in orchestral and contemporary music. Her doctoral dissertation in 2024 examined the differences in contemporary music performance practices in Finnish and American clarinet repertoire from an ethnographic and auto-ethnographic perspective. She continues to pursue performer-based research in contemporary music performance practice while maintaining an active career as a performer and teacher. Lucy holds Bachelors degrees in clarinet performance and anthropology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Master of Music degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki.
