Liisa Ahlberg works as a university arts teacher at the Sibelius Academy in the Degree Programme in Church Music and Organ. She teaches the following subjects: organ playing, liturgical organ playing, organ improvisation, organ pedagogy and organ improvisation pedagogy. In addition, Ahlberg is responsible the for the church music students' traineeships in parishes. The languages of instruction are Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian. Ahlberg is also a doctoral student in the DocMus doctoral school. She is working on doctoral studies related to the development of instrument pedagogy education using John Biggs' theory of constructive alignment. Since 2013, Liisa Ahlberg has held the position of a church musician in the Petrus församling in Helsinki. Previously, she has worked e.g. in the Munkkiniemi and Haaga parishes in Helsinki and in the Pyynikki parish in Tampere.
