Kirsti Rasehorn

Kirsti Rasehorn has a wide range of experience in teaching, music education, educational development and research. She holds a Licentiate in Philosophy in music education. Her career to date has been mainly in music education and pedagogy at higher education level in Finland, training music teachers and classroom teachers at universities and music pedagogues, community musicians, community pedagogues and theatre-performance instructors at universities of applied sciences. She has been working at the University of the Arts as curriculum project manager (2021-24) and acting head of Uniarts Seinäjoki (8-12/2024). Rasehorn's research interests include in particular orchestral conducting, leadership, expertise and its development, teacher education, curricula processes, assessment in the arts, cultural well-being and the impact of cultural environment. Teaching activities have focused on pedagogy, orchestral and choral conducting, music arranging, research methods and supervision of thesis. As an artist, Rasehorn is an orchestra and choir conductor, flutist and pianist, as well as a composer, lyricist and arranger.
