Kuva/Tila
The exhibition spaces of the Academy of Fine Arts are located on the ground floor of the Mylly building at Sörnäisten rantatie 19.
A large and versatile exhibition space
Kuva/Tila showcases art created within the Academy of Fine Arts. Featured artists include students from all stages of the Academy’s studies, as well as researchers, alumni and visiting artists. Exhibitions and events are always free of charge.
Kuva/Tila is full of light and covers almost 750 square metres of spacious and versatile exhibition space. The space allows for a wide range of works and projects to be displayed and experimented with. The large exhibition space is almost eight metres high, and seven large windows open up the exhibitions to passers-by. Connected to Kuva/Tila is a black box, which is ideal for presenting video works, for example.
Exhibitions may also expand to other floors of the building. In such cases, follow the signs!
You can access the galleries through the entrance on Sörnäisten rantatie.
Visiting and accessibility
Kuva/Tila is accessible by wheelchair. The gallery is located on the ground floor of the Mylly building. The closest accessible entrance is from Sörnäisten rantatie. There is an info desk and an accessible toilet in the lobby of the building. Service dogs are welcome to our exhibition spaces.
The gallery is located in the Helsinki city centre with good public transport connections. Admission to exhibitions and events organised by the Academy of Fine Arts is always free.
