‘One study place per term’ provision
The ‘one study place per term provision’ applies to joint application procedures, separate application procedures and application procedures to programmes leading to a third-cycle (licentiate, doctoral) degree. According to the ‘one study place per term provision’:
- The applicant may accept only one offer of admission to a programme leading to a university degree during one academic term
- The rule also applies to third-cycle degrees completed at universities, i.e. licentiate and doctoral degrees
- The rule does not apply to transfer students’ acceptance of a study place
- Other exceptions to the provision are the Police University College, Högskolan på Åland and foreign universities
The applicant may receive the right to study towards several different degrees, but they must accept the offer of admission to the programme during two different academic terms.
