Admission results: Master of Fine Arts, autumn 2022

The results of the Master's admissions are published on November 9, 2022.

The Master’s admission for the Academy of Fine Arts was conducted as a separate admission in autumn 2022. The application period to Master’s studies in fine arts was from the 10th of August to the 24th of August 2022. The applications were submitted electronically via the Studyinfo system.

229 applications were submitted to the degree programme in fine arts, of which 205 applicants were deemed eligible or conditionally eligible to apply based on their language skills, educational background and the required advance assignments. Based on the evaluation of the compulsory appendices and portfolios, 44 applicants were invited to the interviews. All 44 applicants attended the interview.

58 applications were submitted to the Praxis – Master’s programme in Exhibition Studies, of which 44 applicants were deemed as eligible or conditionally eligible to apply based on their language skills, educational background and the required advance assignments. Based on the evaluation of the compulsory appendices, 11 applicants were invited to the interviews. All 11 applicants attended the interview.

The following 29 applicants are admitted as new students to the 2-year education leading to a master’s degree in fine arts, and the following 14 applicants are selected to be on reserve (applicants grouped by subject area, applicant’s study language in brackets):

Based on the application and interview, the Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts has accepted the following change in main subject in the autumn of 2022:

Old study right: Master’s Degree Programme in Live Art and Performance Studies (2-year programme)

The Academy of Fine Arts will send information to applicants about the admission results also by e-mail on 9 November 2022. Some e-mail clients may treat our messages as spam; please check your spam folder as well. Applicants can also inquire the results via e-mail (kuva.admissions@uniarts.fi).

Admitted students are to accept the offered study place latest by 23 November 2022 (3:00pm, local time in Finland). New Master’s students will start their studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in January 2023.

Members of the admission jury will give feedback on the phone to those applicants who were interviewed, but were not admitted, at specific times if requested. Applicants receive more detailed information on how to request feedback via e-mail. Feedback cannot be given at another time.

Rectification request

Applicants can apply for rectification of the admission decision from Uniarts Helsinki under the Universities Act (558/2009), section 82. The purpose of a written request for rectification is to give the applicant the possibility to appeal and request for rectification if there is a reason to believe that there has been an error in the decision-making process. The rectification procedure is not intended as a means for receiving feedback or asking for further information about the admissions process.
