Accessibility in Theatre Academy’s performances and events
Theatre Academy main building
Most of the Theatre Academy’s performances are organised in the Theatre Academy main building known as Kookos. The building’s address is Haapaniemenkatu 6, 00530 Helsinki.

The Theatre Academy also has a lunch restaurant, which is open on weekdays from 8.30 am to 5 pm. Please note that there is no catering during possible intermissions during evening performances.
Arrival
The Theatre Academy does not have a designated parking area, but there are a few parking spaces subject to fees on Haapaniemenkatu. It is possible to stop in front of the main door, and there is enough space for a taxi van, for example.
The nearest stops for public transport are about 100 metres away from the main entrance.
The threshold-free main entrance to the building is 235 cm wide.
Please note that the entrance door is not automated, and it may be heavy to open. If you need help with opening the door, you can find the info desk’s phone number on the door.
There is an automated door to the Mylly building of the Academy of Fine Arts, the address is Sörnäisten Rantatie 19, Helsinki. There is an accessible route from Mylly to the Theatre Academy main building.
Accessibility
The Theatre Academy main building Kookos is accessible.Please note that the floor of the lobby is uneven, please be careful!
Unfortunately, there is no induction loop available in the performance facilities.
There are performance facilities on several different floors. All floors are accessible by a lift.
There is an accessible toilet on the same floor as the main lobby (Tori). All toilets in the building are gender-neutral.

Ticket sales, wheelchair users, assistants and interpreters
You can find the ticket sales desk in the Theatre Academy Tori lobby under the Lipunmyynti, Biljetter, Tickets sign.
There is a space for a wheelchair in the audience unless otherwise mentioned in the performance details. You can buy a ticket for a wheelchair user according to the normal ticket sales procedure.
Personal assistants and interpreters can attend performances free of charge, and their tickets are booked according to the normal ticket sales procedure.
We welcome assistance and guide dogs to our performances.
