What Now? – Changes to the Realities of International Artists in Finland

Welcome to an info session about the effects of the current political changes on the international community in Finland.

Rong Ci-Zhang

Welcome to the info session about the effects of the current political changes on the international community in Finland. We have invited specialists from education, culture politics, law and multicultural art & curation to share their insights and expertise with us. There will also be time to discuss and reflect on your own situation. This event follows up The Leap and Think Africa’s Info session events – the impact of the Finnish government policy changes on the African diaspora.

The event will answer some of the following questions and similar ones:

  • How can I continue making art despite the changes?
  • How can community support empower us in challenging times?
  • What resources will be provided to support those affected by the changes to legislation?
  • What are the boxes to tick for people to continue their life/art here in FInland? What if I don’t tick those boxes?
  • How are people monitored?
  • Can I as an artist fulfil the requirements to apply for citizenship/residence permit?

More information will be updated soon.

Co-organised by Theatre Academy’s International Alumni Network TIAN, Globe Art Point and Think Africa.
