Visiting experts: Reza Afisina and Iswanto Hartono
The upcoming open lecture is part of the Visiting Experts series where international experts in the arts and sciences, invited by Uniarts Helsinki’s Theatre Academy, share their knowledge.
The visiting professors Reza Afisina and Iswanto Hartono propose a performative public lecture, embedded in a course they teach at Teak, called “Welcome (back!) to our Living Room.” (13.5.-24.5) The course is a place to encounter, not only to learn. It cherishes unintentional, unpurposeful, unexpected encounters with the life of the others (us) which reminds us of the learning from daily narration. It is a collective pot of resources to encourage the direct action of each and every individual, it will facilitate the platform of listening, form of knowledge transfer that favours transmission, mutual supporting organism of initiatives and individuals with an educational practice and approach to exchange experiences and perspectives, and to learn from each other through the act of sharing time, space, and skills. In this stage, we will explain the forms of activities that have been running since the first stage we met and design programs that can be developed, including: The Book Club, The Crit(ical) Meeting and The Skill workshop. This part of value is transferred into compiling our harvest (from a series of meetings and activities) and our articulation together into production. i.e. zine making, workshops and events.
