The Leap – Rights and Reality for Foreign Born Artists in Finland

On leap day, join the discussion and networking event on rights of international artists in Finland, including a panel and legal clinic with law professionals.

On leap day February 29th 2024, the Theatre Academy’s international alumni network (TIAN), Globe Art Point and Theatre Academy’s alumni association are hosting an event focusing on the rights of international artists. The purpose of this event is to discuss the legal aspects of immigration issues and the working realities faced by foreign-born artists in Finland. The event is free of charge and organised in English.

The event will commence with a panel discussion, offering insights from experienced professionals in legal matters that relate to immigration and the practicalities of working as an international artist. Following the panel discussion, there will be a 30 minute break during which attendees can network and share experiences with each other.

In the final two hours of the event, we will facilitate legal clinics tailored for individuals with specific questions related to their immigration status, artistic practice, and other concerns regarding the upcoming legislative changes anticipated for 2025. These legal clinics will provide a platform for one-on-one discussions with lawyers, offering personalised guidance and support. You can book your confidential 15 minutes with a lawyer through our registration link.
