Taidepiste: Celebration of imperfection
Don’t be so hard on yourself! The next Taidepiste panel discussion features Kirsi Piha, Riku Siivonen, Stig Baumgartner and Laura Friman.
Live audience members are required to show their COVID-19 passports. We also recommend using a face mask during the event.
Striving for perfection is a speed bump on the road to happiness and good performances. In what situations should we tolerate incompleteness and lower our standard? How can we cut ourselves some slack in a time that praises achievements and mythical super humans?
These questions will be discussed by entrepreneur Kirsi Piha, journalist Riku Siivonen and visual artist and lecturer Stig Baumgartner. The discussion will be moderated by journalist Laura Friman. The event will be in Finnish.
The event will take place in the second floor lobby of the new Mylly building in Sörnäinen, and it will be live streamed on Uniarts Helsinki’s YouTube channel. Attendees will also have the chance to visit the Ebb & Flow exhibition in the Kuva/Tila gallery at the Academy of Fine Arts.
Taidepiste is Uniarts Helsinki’s event series, which explores social phenomena through multidisciplinary discussions and art experiences that are free and open to the public. Taidepiste events are organised once a month in the Main Foyer of the Helsinki Music Centre and live streamed on Uniarts Helsinki’s YouTube channel. High-quality recordings of the Taidepiste events are also available for later viewing on YouTube. The event series is sponsored by the Louise and Göran Ehrnrooth Foundation.
