Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra: The world is a stage

The first concert of the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra offers drama and passion.

Vocal soloist Eleriin Müüripeal interprets La Mort de Cléopâtre (The Death of Cleopatra), a masterpiece of orchestral song pioneer Hector Berlioz. La Mort de Cléopâtre tells the tragic tale of the suicide of the Egyptian queen.

Elliott Goldenthal is an Oscar-winning composer of film scores. The debut of his Othello Symphony will be performed under the direction of conductor Elisar Riddelin. The piece has been recorded, but it has never been performed in a concert.

Mannerheimintie renovation project

Access to the Musiikkitalo from the direction of Mannerheimintie will be difficult. We recommend that you allow enough time for your arrival and use the entrance on the side of Kansalaistori if possible. According to current information, the entrance to Mannerheimintie will also remain in use throughout the renovation, but pedestrian routes can be challenging at times.

We recommend following the official information channels of the renovation project, where you can find the most up-to-date information.
