Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra: The World in Us
The concert programme was inspired by periods in the life of conductor student Aliisa Neige Barrière, through which she ponders how much the years spent studying and the surrounding cultures shape us
Human identity is a mosaic, which consists of our experiences – a human being is a fragmented whole.
Indeed, at first glance, the programme might seem a bit fragmented, but it is made wholw by means of dramaturgy and ritualisation. It symbolises human diversity, how the uniqueness of each of us is the sum of many events and in constant flux: the world is in all of us.
