Sibafest: Sound Plasma – For seven clarinets
The concert will make a deep dive into the ritualistic, sculptural and artistically aural music of Horațiu Rădulesc
The material of his piece Inner Time II is based on a 42-pitch overtone-based scale with each of the seven clarinets employing 6 of the 42 notes. From this acoustic mass emerges a 60-minute interval of objects suggesting geometric forms, filling the space in a variety of ways.
Attention: Inner Time contains very powerful sound effects!
Romanian-French composer Horațiu Rădulescu (1942-2008) is particularly known for his spectral technique of composition. Rădulescu wanted to develop musical textures where all elements would be in a constant state of change. The result would be a sort of aural plasma.
