OUT – BACK – Sculpture Laboratory course exhibition

The exhibition gathers works by 11 students from The Academy of Fine Arts’ subject area of sculpture. Through diverse techniques, the students developed their own artistic work by experimenting with sculpture, elements of nature, materials. The works on display in the exhibition consist of sculptures and installations from a course focusing on sustainable and leftover material investigations. The title of the exhibition, ‘out – back’, hints subtly to the term outback (transl. syrjäseutu) that can be used to refer to locations that are far away, remote and sparsely populated.
Controlling changes. Uncontrollable changes. Changing of the weather. Leftover. Left out. Time. Outside and inside.
