Onni Alanko’s solo exhibition Stick to Change explores the formation of space through the act of painting. The works are based on perceptions of cityscape, depicting its ever-changing nature and the diversity of spatial dimensions. Alanko calls his experimental painting process an exploration. He seeks views into undefined spaces, created by painting layers upon layers of existing forms and perceptions. The paintings blur the boundaries between the representational and the abstract, leading the viewer to explore both the look of the cityscape and the personal images it creates.
