On Kuninkaansaari

Art on Kuninkaansaari island.

Photographer: Minjee Hwang Kim

I don’t want anything from the island and I don’t think the island wants anything from me.

This work takes the form of a residency on Kuninkaansaari, from mid-June until the end of August. It is an artist’s residence proposed by the artist. Time is spent and shared on the island. Moving, listening, witnessing, resting, gathering, making, collaborating, doing or not doing.

I don’t think the island wants anything from me

‘I don’t want anything from the island and I don’t think the island wants anything from me’, is a text by Cáit Ní Dhuinnín, it was written during her residency on Kuninkaansaari.

The text can be collected from Easy Café-Food Market at Vallisaari harbour. You are invited to take the text and the sitting mat with you to Kuninkaansaari. Find a place there that feels good to stop and read for a while.

Please return the text, sitting mat and bag to Easy Café-Food Market before you leave.
