Mutefest: Touch
Interactive sound installation “Touch”
Artistic component of Katrin Enni’s doctoral research
If you wish to have a private listening session and participate in a research interview, you can book your timeslot via link below.
What does it feel like to touch something invisible? “Touch” is an interactive sound installation where your hand movements bring sound to life, creating a unique sensory experience. By simply moving your hands, you’ll uncover soundscapes that respond to your gestures, offering a chance to connect with sound in a way that feels tangible and immediate.
As the first artistic component of my doctoral research, “Touch” explores the relationship between sculpture, sound, and movement-based interaction. By treating sound as a sculptural material, I examine how listening, movement and interaction shape our relationship with space, body, and the imaginary. You are invited to become part of the work.
The installation weaves a web of motion and sound, where five light beams mark gateways for interaction. Your hand movements within these light beams are mapped to a digital modular synthesizer patch, creating a dynamic and evolving 5-channel sonic experience, that is designed to be experienced intuitively.
Sound and light installation, sound composition, interaction programming by Katrin Enni.
