Liberade
An original short play, Liberade is a Latinx magical realism, queer drama set in the space between life and death.
Liberade follows Eme, a non-binary person, who’s found themselves at the edge of the universe in the space between life and death after an attack they can’t remember. Here, they meet the angel of death who, as they’ve done many times before, offers them a choice: they can either move on into the afterlife or choose to reincarnate once more with the knowledge that death will come for them once more in a similar fashion. What follows is an exploration through Eme’s memories as they attempt to piece together their past in order to decide their future.
This short play is an exploration of queer life and the intersections of religion, identity, and acceptance.
The show is 45 minutes long without intermission.
