Let It Sound! Ghost Statues
Fresh Choir Music
The concert will premiere brand new choral works, created for this concert by Sibelius Academy composition students and Theatre Academy writing and dramaturgy students. In autumn 2023, the students took part in a text and poetry analysis course, at the end of which pairs of collaborators were formed. In the spring and early autumn of 2024, the works were worked on together with the EMO Ensemble, a chamber choir of about thirty young but experienced choral singers specialising in the performance of new music, conducted by Pasi Hyökki and based at the Espoo Music Institute.
Pasi Hyökki and the composers of the concert will talk about the pieces in the concert at the pre-concert event starting at 18.15. Welcome!
