As a native Aruban, Susjaira Kerpens revisits her past and navigates the present in her investigation of the relationship between Aruban musical identity and Aruba’s unspoken traumas. In this concert, Susjaira unveils pieces of her Aruban roots through exploring and recalling buried emotions found deep beneath the vulnerability of her own experiences, as well as looking to the future, reimagining her own sense of identity.
