Folk music from the Uniarts Helsinki: Alter

Music for weak forces, details and flawed instruments

“Change in character or composition typically in a comparatively small but significant way.”

In this concert, attention is paid to small but significant changes, decay and slow ways of becoming another. Shabbiness, scarcity, coincidence, susurrus, fumbling, mundaneness and simplicity are present. Perhaps an unorganized tangle of unwoven threads travels throughout one’s perception.

Miio Holopainen is interested in bowings and their particularities, failure and vagueness that pours on surfaces and instruments that in their own ways fail as fiddles but have something special as individuals.

Performers

  • Miio Holopainen, viola and violins

Mannerheimintie renovation project

Access to the Musiikkitalo from the direction of Mannerheimintie will be difficult. We recommend that you allow enough time for your arrival and use the entrance on the side of Kansalaistori if possible. According to current information, the entrance to Mannerheimintie will also remain in use throughout the renovation, but pedestrian routes can be challenging at times.

We recommend following the official information channels of the renovation project, where you can find the most up-to-date information.
