An evening of electroacoustic improvisation
Programme
Today’s concert is the public presentation of the work undertaken during the Electroacoustic Improvisation course at the Music Technology department of the Sibelius Academy. The course has seen students exploring the interaction between acoustic and electronic instruments, combining and harmonising elements from both domains. In addition, efforts have been made to develop instruments, instrumental techniques, and musical strategies that can adapt to the fluid nature of free improvisation. The concert will feature a series of real-time compositions, which implies that the pieces are conceived and developed during the performance itself.
Performers
Annika Fuhrmann, voice and effects
Tom Lönnqvist, modular synthesizer
Libero Mureddu, piano
Jonatan Snapir, modular synthesizer
Sofija Zaiceva, modular synthesizer
Mehrnoosh Zolfaghari, santoor and effects
