Adriano Adewale – Hidden Sounds – Reconnected Identities

Adewale’s second doctoral concert explores the musical bow Berimbau.

Hidden Sounds – Reconnected Identities is the second artistic component of Adriano Adewale’s doctoral project, exploring the essence of music making through the berimbau, an Afro-Brazilian musical bow. It investigates how musicians express and communicate using a minimum amount of tools. The dialogue between traditional and new innovative approaches to berimbau’s performing techniques creates possibilities for new ways of making music to emerge. The music is based on improvisation with composed elements.
