About the artist

Nelly Toussaint (1986, France) questions the representation of women in Western art history and its use as a tool of domination. Through drawings, etchings, and embroidered texts, she remakes artworks from Western art history, changing the narrative to liberate women’s bodies and stories. She is based in Finland since 2017.
