Jussi Pirttioja’s (b.1988) oil paintings move between expressive representation and abstract image mass. He sees paintings as machines that are built from stream-of-consciousness drawing and philosophical reflection. The colorfully sprawling visual language has its basis in the interplay between the debris-still-lifes of the surrounding environment and academic figure painting.
