Elias Langi

About the artist

Sculptor Elias Langi (b. 1997, Tampere) explores the boundaries and limits of the human body and cultural subconscious through the themes of finitude, fragility and ritual. Langi delves into the forms and aesthetics of utilitarian articles and creates cultural products which we recognize unusable yet emotionally and epistemologically engaging. Langi works in Finland and internationally and has exhibited at the Magyar Mühely Gallery in Budapest, the Toolbox in Berlin, and participated in the residency programme of the Kunstverein Kärnten in Klagenfurt, Austria. During his studies, Langi has made three public sculptures, one of which is in Bratislava, Slovakia, and is currently finishing his fourth in Finland for Art Zoo Tampere.
