Uniarts Helsinki issues recommendation on face masks and remote work until 16 January 2022
The mask recommendation will enter into force immediately and the remote work recommendation will enter into force on Monday, 29 November.
The Metropolitan Area coronavirus coordination group has decided to tighten the face mask and remote work recommendation in its region on Tuesday, 23 November. Uniarts Helsinki’s COVID coordination team convened on Wednesday, 24 November, to assess the impact of the recommendations on the activities of our university. The mask recommendation will enter into force immediately and the remote work recommendation will enter into force on Monday, 29 November.
Impact of the recommendations on Uniarts Helsinki’s activities in brief:
- Teaching will continue in accordance with the current practices: by providing contact teaching, for the most part.
- Wearing of face masks is recommended in all situations at the university (excluding eating) if there is no health reason that prevents it.
- If wearing a face mask is not possible in contact teaching and artistic activities, alternative safety measures are in place.
- We recommend our support service personnel to work remotely between 29 November 2021 and 16 January 2022 if it is suitable in terms of work duties.
- Meetings are recommended to be held remotely.
Uniarts Helsinki’s COVID-19 recommendations
The recommendations are in force until 16 January 2022.
Use of face masks
We recommend our students and staff to wear face masks in all situations in the university facilities if there is no health reason that prevents it. Wearing a mask is not necessary when eating.
If wearing a face mask is not possible in contact teaching and artistic activities, alternative safety measures are in place. These measures are presented on an Artsi page concerning safety measures under the section Other measures to increase safety.
Other work
We recommend our support service personnel to work remotely if it is suitable in terms of work duties. The remote work recommendation is in force between 29 November 2021 and 16 January 2022.
Meetings are recommended to be held remotely.
If meeting up remotely is not suitable due to the nature of the event (e.g. team development days, recreational days, training sessions), the supervisor can make the decision on on-site meetings as long as safety measures are followed. All participants are required to wear face masks even when they are able to comply with the recommendation on safe distances.
Artistic activities and other events
The face mask recommendation is in force in all performances, exhibitions and other events taking place in Uniarts Helsinki’s facilities. The event organiser must ensure that attendees are informed of the face mask recommendation and that there will be no overcrowding when people enter and exit the audience area.
Impact on parties at the end of the year
Mylly opening event for stakeholders on 2 December
Attendees who are not students or staff of the university are required to present a COVID-19 passport upon arrival. More detailed instructions on entry will be sent directly to the guests.
Opening ceremony and building introduction in Mylly for staff on 7 December
The event is attended only by the university’s staff, and no COVID-19 passport is required.
Staff Christmas party on 8 December
Attendees of the Christmas party will be asked to present their COVID-19 passport upon arrival.
Graduation ceremonies
The academies’ graduation ceremonies are public events. If the audience is seated when following the programme, participants from outside the university community are not asked to present a COVID-19 passport. Restaurants are bound by restrictions issued by the authorities, which is why restaurant owners may require event participants to present a COVID-19 passport.
