Pyörre is a 20-credit study module on leadership and project management for independent arts professionals available at Uniarts Helsinki’s Open University. Students of the module will acquire basic knowledge and tools related to leadership and management within small-scale arts and cultural organisations. Participants will also learn the basics of communication, copyrights, negotiation skills, marketing and service design. The study module will be organised in the 2023—2024 academic year. The language of the study module is Finnish.

In the past academic year, one of the participants was Hanna Hautala, the executive director of the Hailuoto Theatre Festival and chair of the support association. “Uniarts Helsinki’s Pyörre module gave me a wide range of new information and knowhow related to my job as the chair of a small cultural association. I recommend the studies to all employers and employees working in the performing arts and also to anyone who does not yet possess the sufficient skills for working professionally in the field,” Hautala says.

More information on the Pyörre study module is available at the Studyinfo portal, and registration will open in August 2023.
