Sigrid Sandström appointed professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts
Sigrid Sandström (MFA, Yale University) has been appointed professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts for a five-year term 1.8.2020-31.7.2025.
Sandström has extensive experience as a teacher within the field of fine arts, latest as a professor at the Royal Institute of Arts in Stockholm. She previously lived and worked in the USA where she taught at Bard College Annandale-on-Hudson, NY, Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, and Glassell School of Art, Houston.
Recent solo exhibitions include Västerås konstmuseum, Kulturens hus, Luleå, Inman Gallery, Houston, Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles, Cecilia Hillstrom Gallery, as well as several art fair presentations. In 2006, Sandström had a major one-person exhibition at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle. She has also participated in exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Museum, Houston, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, as well as at Moderna Museet and Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
