Rector of Uniarts Helsinki Kaarlo Hildén and Professor Sakari Oramo honoured as the Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland
On 6 December 2024, President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will award Rector of Uniarts Helsinki Kaarlo Hildén and Professor Sakari Oramo the decoration of Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland.
The decoration is a recognition of notable personal merits in pursuing the interests of the university and arts community.
Kaarlo Hildén will wear the decoration when attending the Independence Day reception hosted by President Alexander Stubb on 6 December.
The decorations will also be awarded to the following Uniarts Helsinki staff members with distinguished merits:

Apart from Kaarlo Hildén and Sakari Oramo, the aforementioned decorations have been proposed by Uniarts Helsinki to its staff. In addition to the the recipient list above, we have also received news that Susanna Mälkki, conductor and honorary doctor of Uniarts Helsinki, will be honoured with the decoration of Commander of the Order of the Lion of Finland. Dean Leevi Haapala, doctoral researcher Pirita Näkkäläjärvi and Professor Tarja Pitkänen-Walter will be awarded the decoration of Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland. Hourly-paid teacher Folke Gräsbeck will receive the Pro Finlandia Medal of the Order of the Lion of Finland.
