Come study for a doctorate at one of the world’s best universities in performing arts!
At the Sibelius Academy, you can complete a doctorate in classical music, church music, music history, music theory and composition, folk music, jazz, music technology, art administration or music education.
The education is organized by two doctoral schools: DocMus (Doctoral School of the Department of Classical Music) and MuTri (Doctoral School of the Department of Music Education, Jazz and Folk Music).
The next application period for doctoral studies at the Sibelius Academy is January 1st to 29th 2021. The application form is to be filled electronically in the Opintopolku service.
2020 will mark the 30th anniversary of the graduation of the first doctors of music from the Sibelius Academy. To date, more than 200 of them have been completed.
