Uniarts Helsinki has launched cooperative projects with African partners as part of the Global Networks
Uniarts Helsinki is part of the Finnish higher education institutions’ Global Networks that receives funding from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. In 2022, Uniarts Helsinki started projects with African partners that aim to develop all partners’ pedagogical methods and educational content.
The Global Networks have received national funding from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture for 2021–2024. The networks aim at new kinds of working methods that will lead to the strengthening of Finland’s higher education brand and global partnerships. As a member of the Global Networks, Uniarts Helsinki received funds in early 2021 to foster cooperation with African partners. The cooperation is planned on a sustainable basis to last longer than the funding period.
“We set out to gather actors and content for Uniarts Helsinki’s Global Networks in order to support existing activities and to create new forms of activities. Our purpose is also to develop cooperation that extends beyond unit boundaries, and to create suitable services for international students, researchers and staff members required for such extensive projects. With our partners, our goal is to learn from each other and to promote synergy between education and research,” Project Manager Katja Kiviharju says.
“All Uniarts Helsinki’s Global Network projects are now progressing well as a result of thorough planning. Joint courses, encounters, and publications will be implemented in the coming years,” she continues.
