Call for articles for Trio journal
Leave your article proposal by December 10th 2021
Trio has a continuous submission at the Journal.fi platform and the deadlines are near Midsummer and Independence Day. Deadline for the June issue is 10th of December. Submitting an article by the deadline does not guarantee it will be published in the next issue.
Trio is a bi-annual publication of the DocMus Doctoral School and the Department of Classical Music at the Sibelius Academy. Trio contains material about different aspects of Western classical music, including performance, HIP, pedagogy, philosophy, aesthetics, analysis, history and present.
Trio accepts texts in Finnish, Swedish and English: fully reviewed articles, lectiones praecursoriae, reviews, speeches, book critiques and reports.
Students can gain ECTS credits from their supervisors for published articles. Writing articles is part of study and is agreed upon with the supervisor for written work and the supervisor for dissertations. Articles by teachers and post-doctoral artists and researchers are also welcome.
Writers should carefully read and follow Trio’s submission guidelines.

Terms of publication
When submitting an article or other text to be published in Trio, the author or authors transfer publishing rights to the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki. The Sibelius Academy then has the right to publish the text in printed form and in digital form at the University of the Arts Helsinki Taju-database and Journal.fi platform. Prior to publication, the text must undergo editing as required by the established assessment process for Trio. The University of the Arts Helsinki has the right to sell Trio both in the printed and in the digital form and to transfer limited distribution rights to licensed national and international databases or publishing companies for academic publications (for example, Elektra and Ebsco), without forwarding rights. This transferred right of publication will not entitle the author(s) to monetary compensation.
The author(s) will retain the proprietary rights and the right of use to the text, which will not be limited by the transfer of a parallel right of use. The author or authors warrant that the text does not infringe the copyright of a third party.
